Most people think that drones are expensive and unattainable. I certainly did. I’ve always been fascinated with drones. Their applications and the geek factor that goes along with owning one. As a dad on a limited budget, I thought I’d never be able to afford a drone, much less buy two for my children. So I stopped buying them.
Only a few short years ago, when more durable and cheaper drones began to hit the market, could I buy one for myself and my children? I can’t tell you how much we enjoyed these drones. I created a list of affordable drones you can purchase today. Here is my list of the five best drones below $50.
Holy Stone HS170
It is a quadcopter with four propellers. The Holy Stone HS170 may be small and cheap, but don’t let its size or price fool you. It is no accident that the Holy Stone H170 appears on so many top drone lists. The price does not affect the durability of this drone. It can be dropped repeatedly, but you should avoid it because it will break eventually. Its increased durability makes it an excellent choice for beginners.
The flight time is about 8 minutes. This is why many holy stone owners buy extra batteries. It also comes with a headless mode, which helps beginners get a hang of the quadcopter. The Holy Stone HS170 is a drone that offers many features at a price under $40.
Then, you can get the Everyine E010.
The Eachine E010 is ranked number 2. The Eachine E010 is a small drone that performs better indoors than most other drones in its class. Its nylon body can withstand even the most severe accidents. With a range of 30 meters, you might be surprised.
Wind can affect the Eachine E010, which has a fast rate option. Although the controller is small, anyone can use it. Like most drone owners, you should always have a few extra batteries handy. The drone is appealing to children and has many features. It should be on everyone’s Christmas list.
Syma X11 Hornet
Syma is one of the most popular drone brands. Syma is a brand that has gained a lot of popularity. Their drones are usually high quality and affordable, the Syma X11 Hornet being no exception.
The drone is fun to use and looks nice. This drone has a flip mode that is fun to use but requires a lot of space. So, make sure you’re outside when playing with this mode.
This is a favorite among my children and their friends, even though the controller can be small and difficult to use. Although this drone is primarily outdoor, it can be powered up with a simple switch. However, the power will only work in light winds.
Syma X5C
Fourth place goes to another Syma drone. This tiny drone replicates some of its larger, sleeker competitors. This drone is great for beginners as well as new pilots. It has a 6-axis gyroscope that allows it to fly at higher altitudes on windy days.
The HD camera can be removed for easier maneuverability. The drone has a 10-minute flight time, but it depends on the amount of cameras used. Both pictures and videos can be taken at 2MP. The camera has a fixed position and a micro SD card of 2GB.
Eachine E10C Micro Drone
It is the smallest of the drones on this list, but it is a kid’s favorite. The Eachine E10C is equipped with an HD camera, and the battery is mounted.
The drone can fly for around five minutes but is unsuitable for outdoor use due to its high wind resistance. The camera takes pictures and videos at 1280×720 and 30 frames per second. This drone is perfect for those just getting started with drones and don’t want to spend much money.
